Beer Tower at Sunset
This sassy boy sold us a firework on the beach. He also loved my red sunglasses, so we let him keep them. Then he saw Ash's computer and wanted to play a game. Despite Ash saying it was out of battery, the boy hit the power button and soon we had an audience of six children watching movies off the laptop on the beach.
Later this evening, Ash and I were walking along the beach when we came across a group of Cambodian boys, our age, who were vacationing from Phnom Penh. The were listening to "Hotel California" and Ash made an approving comment as we walked by. Next thing we knew, we were sharing a few beers with the group and hearing about life as a Cambodian college student. It was cool to gain insight about Cambodian life from someone our age, and they were plenty curious about us as well.
The next morning we departed on our cruise to stay overnight on an island two hours off the coast of Cambodia.
View from the sundeck
When the boat took an afternoon stop the crew extended a large metal plank over the water from the top story of the boat. (About 10 m up)
I thought I would be brave enough to jump but every time I walked out on the plank, I got scared and turned around.
Finally I JUMPED!
This guys was doing flips, a lot braver than me.
Approaching the island!
Lunch on board
The Beach, paradise resort
The bungalows we stayed in were so cute!
Dorms were also available
The weather on the second day on the island was a little cloudy with wind and rough seas, but it was still a paradise. After beach time and relaxing we headed back to Sihanoukville.
Cruising back at sunset
Candle lit dinner.
We have moved cities again! We are now in Phnom Penh, Cambodia's capital. Tomorrow we are going to the Genocide Museum. More blogging to come! Love to all back home!
