A Wrap-Up on Bali

Hey Y'all, we are sitting in the KL airport waiting to fly to Thailand and pick up the overnight train to Laos! We are a bit behind in our blogging, but wanted to do a wrap of our time in Bali.

Bali is an incredible place, with fantastic food (never more than $4.00) and outstanding hospitality. As a country that thrives on tourism, the local Balinese are always polite and very helpful. The weather was hot, with thunderstorms rolling in during the evenings, that light up the whole sky.

Riding around on a scooter was a new experience for Jackie and she is proud to say she rode on her own for a short distance. The traffic in Bali was insane all the time. There are narrow side alley ways with traffic flowing however it pleases. Ash calls it a chaos that somehow flows.

Climbing Mt. Agung was one of the most difficult climbs either of us have done. The hike to the top was exhausting as we gained around 9,000 ft (3,000 m) in elevation. However, the descent was even harder. The steep slopes were tough on the legs and caused many slips. The incredible view and sunrise were well worth the trek.

Overall, Bali was a lovely place and we feel that we didn't have enough time there. Hopefully, we can return soon!

Off to Laos!
